What’s going on in this picture? -Thinking Skills

Look closely at the photograph that has been stripped of its caption.
What’s going on in this picture?

What do you see in this picture? (not everything is obvious)
I can see...      I notice.....      I think that......

Predict what might have happened before or after.
Before this moment....       After this...        I predict that....

Can you connect yourself or something else to this picture?
I relate to this because....       It reminds me of...        I remember when.....

What else do you think about when you see this picture?
It makes me think....         I wonder.....

Ask a question.
I wonder…       I’d like to find out…       what, when, why, how, where, who?

What emotions do you see in this picture?
I can see....         I get the feel that.....

How does this picture make you feel?
It makes me feel....          If I was there I would feel.....

  6. Maybe they found a ship wreck because the ship looks very old. Maybe the large platforms to the sides are trying to pick the boat up from out of the water. I am still very confused.

  7. It looks like a ship that sank at sea. At the top the the image there is some letters that look like they're Chinese or Japanese or something like those languages.

  8. I think its two barges that are recovering a sunken scooner from the ocean. There is also a black streak in the water so it may be an oil leak that they're trying to prevent.

  9. I think There was a sunken boat a long time ago,and they need to protect waterways. And to do that they need to pull out some of these boats

  14. Maybe they are retrieving a sunken boat from the ocean to put in a museum. Maybe the boat has intact valuables on board. It could have sunk somewhere near a foreign country that uses Asian characters.

  16. I think the boat might be put onto those plat forms or they might tow it back to land.

  17. I think that the yellow wires that connect the two platforms are also going to be how they can get out. A large boat or something could drag the platforms by the yellow cables.

  18. There could be a big net under the boat maybe?
